Our practice specializes in Internal Medicine and Nephrology (Renal Disease).
A nephrologist is a physician who has been trained in the diagnosis and management of kidney disease. Nephrologists treat many different kidney disorders including acid-base disorders, electrolyte disorders, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), hypertension (high blood pressure), acute kidney disease and end-stage renal disease.
Nephrology is a subspecialty of internal medicine. After medical school nephrologists complete a three year residency in internal medicine followed by a two year (or longer) fellowship in nephrology. After successfully completing a fellowship in nephrology, the physician is eligible for examination to become board certified.
NJ Nephrology's Dr. Salazar and Dr. Aronoff have been chosen by their peers for inclusion in NJ's Top Doctors. Dr. Levin and Dr. Salazar have been recognized as Castle Connolly Top Doctors.
